of Rawcliffe
Rawcliffe Primary School is a small, happy school in a rural
setting, where children enjoy learning. Visitors to the school are always
impressed by the friendly welcome and the cheerful atmosphere. Although our
SAT’s results were disappointing last year, we were delighted that our
Ofsted report in Spring 2007 recognised that standards throughout the school
are good. Indeed, the Ofsted inspection concluded that our school is “a good
school”.
The school has achieved both the local and national healthy
school award, with the adjudicators being impressed by how the children
“enjoy being at school”. Our children achieve well in sports competitions
and we have just been awarded the “Activemark” status. We recently were
judged to have the best technical dance team in the west of the county!
We are rightly proud of our Special Needs provision and
Ofsted
complimented us on our exciting curriculum which has resulted in excellent
creative work. We work closely with the community and have a small but
committed PTFA which raises important funds for extra resources. The
children are given the opportunity to go on several trips and there is an
annual residential visit for our Year 5 and 6 children. Our suite of
wireless laptops has enabled us to extend the use of ICT throughout the
school. Overall, we are proud of the fact that all our children are provided
with the education which best suits their needs.
